Pending this step, the United States ended security support to Pakistan in January 2018, with a few exceptions to U.S. national security interests.  The United States has been one of the main sources of foreign direct investment in Pakistan and is Pakistan`s largest export market. The U.S.-Pakistan trade relationship continues to grow, and the U.S. government supports this relationship by funding reverse trade delegations, trade conferences, technical assistance, and trade contacts. The main objective of the United States civilian assistance program is the partnership with Pakistan for the development of security, stability, prosperity and self-reliance. .
